Today while I was giving my oldest daughter a ride to work, she noticed a black bear along the side of the road that had been hit and killed by a vehicle. I thought about this poor creature and decided that I would look for it on the way home. I stopped when I found where it was, got out of my car and gave the beast a small blessing. It is sad that the life of this beautiful animal was brought up short because of an accident.

At first I wanted to blame the driver for not being more careful, then I realized that I couldn’t do that. I didn’t know the circumstances at the time of the accident, (it was foggy when I went through the first time.) Who am I to judge what I don’t know anything about? Then I had to wonder, why do these sort of things have to happen? Here was a beautiful, majestic animal that probably wasn’t more than (3) three years old that had died prematurely, not getting the chance to experience a full life. I started thinking about what I had been learning from great authors and teachers such as Dr Wayne Dyer and Neale Donald Walsch. I also remembered what had come to me that night just two years earlier, the night I awoke. We, as humans, don’t know the journey that the soul is taking. Our souls and the souls of all things come to this physical 3-D world with a purpose. That purpose is to learn and to grow.

To experience everything the Universe has to offer. That includes the bad as well as the good. To our souls, there is no good or bad, there is only the experience. Our souls come from a place of pure Love. In order for us to grow, we (our souls) need to experience everything. Life in the physical as well as death of the physical.

When the soul that was the bear signed up to experience life as a bear, it knew all the possible things that could happen to a bear. It knew there was a possibility that it might die young, from any number of causes. It knew that it may fall victim to a hunters bullet, be hit by a car. It knew all these thing, yet it still decide to experience what life here on earth had to offer. It came for the experience, for the growth, the knowledge, the Love. It came just as we did so that The Universe, (God) could experience itself. To learn and grow, to better know what it (The Universe) is. Our souls, (a piece of God) being born into the Universe, (God) to better know just what God is.

I can guarantee you this. When the soul that was the bear returned to Source, it wasn’t crying or sad because it’s physical time was short. It was Laughing and screaming with joy. I can hear it now.

“WOOHOO!! What a wonderful ride!! Do it again!! I want to do it again!!” If you sit quietly and listen to the truth that’s within you, you will hear it too.
